Former National Starch Personal Care Marketing Director to Lead Select Chemical Accounts and Manage New Business Development

Fairfield, NJ (September 1, 2009) – Resource Advantage Group announced the appointment of Penny Vanemon as Vice President of Strategy Development in the company’s Fairfield, NJ headquarters. Ms. Vanemon holds responsibility for managing select chemical industry accounts as well as new business development activities. A marketer with significant experience in commercializing new chemical technology for the manufacturing industries of the world, Penny Vanemon will play a major role in assisting clients with planning and implementing new product launches. Prior to joining Resource Advantage, Ms. Vanemon served as Marketing Director for Akzo Nobel Personal Care.

According to Barbara Mecchi, President of Resource Advantage Group, Penny brings a unique combination of marketing and technical experience that will better serve chemical companies in their effort to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive global marketplace. “Penny is an expert in the tools and processes required to move important technologies into the marketplace,” she said. “Intensely customer-focused, Ms. Vanemon will help our clients to position their innovative new technologies in a way that resonates with the world’s leading manufacturers,” she added.

Penny Vanemon has supported the commercialization, marketing and sale of many innovative technologies throughout her professional career. Serving as a synthesis chemist for Croda, Inc. in the late 1980’s, she was instrumental in moving highly functional surfactant technologies to the marketplace. Ms. Vanemon significantly contributed to Croda’s North American operations in the 1990’s, working in a number of sales and marketing roles. She joined National Starch Personal Care (now Akzo Nobel) in 2001, taking responsibility for global marketing and the commercial launch of “game-changing” polymers dedicated for use in hair styling formulations.

In her new role at Resource Advantage, Penny Vanemon holds responsibility for account management duties as well as new business development programs. She plans to leverage her marketing expertise beyond the chemical industry - in search of new clients that can benefit from marketing communications programs designed to help them expand into new markets and/or strengthen their current market position.
